Holy Wow, House Hunting is Crazy!! Part 3

Weekend 3 of searching...still fun, but getting to be a little crazy.  The weather, like I said, has been perfect, which is great for house hunting, but it's also great for doing other things - like walking around Boston, taking a day trip, going for a walk...;)  House hunting will be worth it, right???

Is that perfect house out there?  2 floors, garage, big kitchen, dining room, 3 or more bedrooms, yard, 2 bathrooms...hello out there, where are you??  Help us find you!

This day was by far the hardest/worse day of searching.  Every house had great things, but too many things that we weren't looking for, didn't want to do/fix, or was just not right in our guts.  We started with this house, about 10 minutes from where we are now.  Great kitchen and yard, but the neighbor's house on one side was less than desirable, and we just couldn't stand it.  Sorry would've been-neighbors, I'm sure you're lovely though.

So, strike one.  Off we headed to the next house, only about 5 minutes away, but on a much quieter street, really quite a nice neighborhood.  Again great kitchen, and this one had a nice flow, but they had turned the garage into a room that we weren't quite sure what to do with, the pool was a mess, as was the roof (and that's just from looking at it from the ground), and I just wasn't feeling it.  I think the husband was at first, but the more he walked around, the more problems he saw.

Next!  I had high hopes for this next one, as it has that really old look that I like.  Surprise, surprise what comes with that look is sometimes a mess!  Like dirty dirty (we didn't know it was a short sale until we went to the appt), water in the basement, I'm "outta here".

Strike 3:(  I guess a day like this was bound to happen.  Better luck next time out, right?  Needless to say, this day didn't help our confidence much, made us re-think our offer on the house we "lost" last time out, and just overall was yuck!  Gotta keep your head up in the house searching process, though!

When you've house-hunted, have you ever had a day like this where you didn't like anything?

Ahhh... house hunting! You certainly have had a few adventures, haven't you?? I am in the home loan business by day (cakes by night) and I really feel for everyone who is searching, searching for the right house to make into a home. Our first house was just that, a house. Our next house was our home immediately. Best of luck finding your home!

I'm sorry it's not going so good for ya - but I'm a big believer in "everything for a reason" and I'm sure it will be worth the wait when you find your dream house! :)
